Scientists are getting really close to making the artificial blood from stem cells usable. They expect that the first trials will start in 2017. and after it is properly tested on humans and proven that there are no side effects or negative aspects, they can proceed further. Hopefully, lab made blood will regularly be used in around five years time.
This innovation however is not planned to replace human donations at this point, but only to be offered as a helpful treatment to certain patients. In the future, this way of blood transfusion would be quite useful, seeing that it is known that in 2014. there were 40% less blood donations made, comparing to the last ten years. There is a huge shortage of volunteering donors, and this creates a huge problem in the modern medicine, therefore the moment when lab made blood becomes safely usable will mark a huge change and accomplishment.

continueEverything is done naturally and pleasantly here. Actually I do not feel sick, it is the most important thing – during these 12 days I haven’t felt sick.
I didn’t have the impression that I was treated like a patient. I was treated like a normal person, it is true I take medicines, receive infusions and still have some pain, but I never felt like I was in the hospital.
